Our society, increasingly polarised and aggressive, prioritises shouting over listening and understanding. This approach is rarely helpful and creates barriers, fuels anger, and dehumanises others, resulting in division and difference. Amid this noise there are also people who feel lonely, isolated or overwhelmed by the challenges of life. Yet there is another way.

The champagne bottles are out with the recycling, the fireworks are a dim and distant memory, and another New Year’s Eve (or NYE as the text-speak generation now call it) has been and gone. Whether you partied like it’s 1999 or stayed at home watching television, the chances are that you will have thought about New Year resolutions.
